Department of Diagnostic Pathology

Head of the Department: Kazuyuki Ishida, MD, PhD

Message from the Head of the Department

Our department provides educational programs for medical students and pathology residents. In clinical practice, we perform surgical pathology diagnosis (histology and cytology), intraoperative diagnosis, and pathological autopsy. We also actively hold conferences with other departments to contribute to the improvement in the quality of medical care. Our research focuses on the elucidation of tumorigenesis mechanisms and clinical-pathology correlation. Our goal is to answer questions that arise from pathological diagnosis with our own data.
