Department of Pathology

Head of the Office: Takuya Yazawa, MD, PhD

Message from the Head of the Office

Welcome to visit our site! Since established in 2016, we have been constructing a new style of pathology department and lab. We actively incorporate various methodologies such as molecular cellular pathology, biomedical engineering, and the power of clinicians and young students in addition to classical morphological pathology, and we would like to bring about significant advances in medical sciences.

Activities

Research Field:

  • Molecular histogenesis of lung neuroendocrine tumors and its relation to cancer stem cells
  • Expression mechanisms of neuroendocrine marker molecules
  • Expression of vascular endothelial growth factors in lung cancers
  • DNA methylation and tumor progression
  • Cancer immunity-escaping mechanisms in small cell lung cancer
  • Tumor progression and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition
  • Molecular pathogenesis of congenital hypothyroidism
  • Histogenesis of ovarian clear cell carcinoma
