Chair of the Department: Denju Osada, MD, Ph.D
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at DMU Nikko Medical Center. I was honored to be named the new Chairman of the Department when Dokkyo Medical University Hospital first opened its DMU Nikko Medical Center in April 2006. Ever since, our physicians and specialists strive to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care; including the bones, joints, cartilages and nerves, that is of the highest quality to all our patients. We offer advanced treatment for the spectrum of orthopaedic conditions, from ankle sprains, hip, knee, hand or bone cancer surgeries. We also bring together a unique team of physicians, physical therapists and specialists to collaboratively provide the best possible medical care for orthopaedic injuries and illnesses. Our patient-centered care has always been the symbol of our department and I am proud of the members of our faculty and staff who continue that tradition today.
1. Target Disease / Conditions
We all use our hands, wrists, and forearms throughout the day to perform a variety of activities. If you are suffering from a hand problem, you may be unable to accomplish daily function such as getting dressed, cooking and driving. There are numerous factors that can contribute to discomfort and pain such as an injury, overuse, arthritis or tumors. Hormone imbalance may be trigger to those symptoms. Unfortunately, not many people aware that there comes a time when hand specialists may be necessary to regain functionality of your hand as well as reduce pain. It’s important to see an orthopedic hand surgeon to correctly diagnose and treat the issue before it becomes even worse.
We are one of the top hand specialists in Japan who focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing disorders in the hand, wrist, and forearm. We have a profound understanding of the complex networks of blood vessels, nerves, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones that make up the hand and fingers. With custom treatment plans and a big focus on patient education, our specialists will make sure you feel confident in the care you receive at Tochigi Hand Surgery Center.
